Nothing wrong with putting it out over an in-ear monitoring system that also has a submix on it. My Ensoniq TS-12 has the ability to send it's metronome out of any of the keyboard's buses, including effects if you really want it to (god knows why you would, but you can,) so I have the metronome on it going out of just the left side of the aux output pair. Something like that for speech would be great.

If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a keyboard, I'd start looking at acoustic pianos. Granted, 8 grand isn't much when you're looking at that space. I've never spent more than $2199 for a keyboard, my Motif XS. Incidentally, that was financed. I bought a sustain pedal, a $25 value, at the same time, which was included in the payment plan. So, that's right. I was paying off my sustain pedal with just five easy payments of something like $5.20/month. No, really, I'm not quite that broke!

oh God I hope that voice feedback doesn't go out the mains! <grin> And
if there is a special speaker on the keyboard just for text to speech,
what would that be like in a gig setting playing with a band. Then I
wondered if they would have it go out say a head phone jack and then I
thought, I wouldn't want that either. Can't hear what the rest of the
band is doing. Still, it is better then not having any accessibility at
all. If I figure it right, this new Tyros 5 would be in the range of
around 78 hundred give or take. I don't know about 8 grand for a keyboard.

That's definitely interesting. Hopefully the speech can be made to go
out of another set of outputs, not main out, and the speed can be
changed. I'm not so interested in the Tyros line (I have a Motif XS
myself,) so it should be interesting to see if Yamaha incorporates
this across it's line, at least in some fashion.

This is for Yamaha's new CVP piano. I have a hunch that you'll also
find it on the new Tyros 5 due out in October. If it does, Yamaha has
finally gotten around to adding accessibility to it's keyboards.
Although the video is in German, the text to speech is in English. The
speech is slower then I would use but I'm sure it is adjustable. The
guy who sent this to me worked for Yamaha and retired recently. What do
you think?

Hi Alan,

See below.
I found this info in the PSR Tutorial Forum.

Let me know your comments, plse. Usefool tools for you ?

Wonder if they will use the same screen and accessories for the T5.

Thank you, Buddy !

Best regards, Jeff

/Here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J24HWtLBfIY ) is a german
YouTube-Video demonstrating the Voice Guide function of the CVP 609.
You can hear how the Voice Guide sounds.

1) You will hear the playing tips for a voice. This sounds like
Text-To-Speech synthesis, which means the Voice Guide should be able to
read any text, including the names you give your registrations, voices,
styles, songs.

2) Around the frame of the display are small ripples, so that blind
users can feel the screens segmentation. So if you were used to press
the 3rd button from top, you will now have to count 3 ripples in the
display frame to know where you are.
