Oh that's definately not true.
I have severel midi files where channel 9 is used for extras and 10 for the
basic kit.
and no problems setting channel 9 to use an electronic kit and 10 an
ordenary live kit.

You can set it up on any channel, although the thing that really bugs me is
it will still only allow one active kit, so to be honest there doesn't seem
to be any point in setting it up for that.

A while back, I think I'm right in thinking someone was asking if there was
an instrument list for Tyros 2/3/4 as well as the original Tyros.
Good news if you're still waiting for a list: I have found a potential
source of information for a list, but it might take some time to sort it
out.
One question for any Tyros users: can you set drum kits on any MIDI channel,
or is it restricted to a particular channel?
