The first thing you need to find out is if the keyboard actually supports
the MIDI local off message. Remember that just about everything in MIDI is
optional, so a particular manufacturer can opt not to support something.
(Back in the day note on/off messages were mandatory, but when companies
started using MIDI to control FX processors and other non-music input
related gear that was removed from the requirements)
Is the instrument responding to other controller messages? Try this --
record a simple track of block chords, then use the progression tool to do a
progression from 0 to 127 on controller 7. If that doesn't work then you're
not getting controller message response from the instrument, and there's
probably a setting you need to alter.
