Your second question is a function of how QWS works. It has no overwrite
feature at the present time, and this is so you can keep adding to a track.
So, for instance, you could lay down the snare and kick in one pass, the
hi-hat in another, and toms and crash cymbals in the third pass. It's not a
bug, it's a feature. To create a new drum track you need to create a blank
track, press M on the old drum track to mute it, and then record your new
track. Then you can delete the old one when you're satisfied with the new
one.
