HI, for some reason or other Bert's post did not arrive here but of course I
can see it underneath yours.
Thank you veru. very much both of you.
I don't know why I didn't see that, it's even labelled, guess tiredness and
urgency don't make good study partners, lol.
However, as usual this list comes to the rescue, <smile>.
you'd think since my first experience with sequencers was with hardware in
the 80's that I'd be beyond such simple mistakes by now but all's well that
ends well.
The song now sounds great!
Thanks to all who helped.
Cheers!

Subject: Re: QWS List Removing a melody from a type 0 midi.
that is sort of a bug or a "preventive" feature? i am not sure. but i
realized that same thing when I had Split the channels for the first
time. There is a track on top of the list without a channel. Its the
original type 0 midi.

Yes! Just remove the track on top olf the list because that is still your
original format 0 track that you don't want any more.
Good luck

Hi all, ok, I have an interesting one, well, perhaps sticky might be a
better way to put it?
Apologies in advance for the length of the below post.
I’m either having a dumb day, highly possible or I’m missing something
really simple here.
I have a format 0 midi which my wife purchased as a backing for vocals
but
it has a flute melody line.
When I first loaded I thought itt’d be easy to kill the melody, justt
find
the track, often track 4, and delete it, <smile>.
first problem, the file is type 0.
So I used a channel split and guess what, there’s the melody right where
I
expected it to be, on channel 4.
So ok, I thought, this will be easy, just select channel 4 go to the
beginning of the melody, and use init properties, set the volume to 0 and
bye bye melody.
That worked but now I havve a problem.
When I split the channel, for some reason the playback now sounds phased
as if I’m playing the midi twice simultaneously somehow.
Can anybody explain why this is happening and if I can fix it?
Or, am i going about the above entirely incorrectly.
Note: using qws with a yamaha dgx-650.
Would really love to be able to use this backing for this contest next
week so haven’t left myself much time i’m sorry.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Cheers!
