Here’s something I’ve been wondering about for a while. The sequencer on the original Yamaha Motif keyboard, as in current versions, has the ability to auto-quantize while recording. However, in the Motif Classic’s sequencer (I believe this was a bug,) it also quantized controller values as well as notes, I.E. pan, filter cut-off, and NRPN’s. Generally, this isn’t something you necessarily want to happen, but I used it to my advantage when creating electronic music, making filters step to arps in ways that normally wouldn’t happen by recording knob inputs in real time with auto-quantize enabled, or creating other odd effects. Just wondering if there was a way to re-create that effect using QWS somehow. I liked being able to tweak knobs in real time, then have those values quantized to nearest division, like notes, rather than having to open something and enter precise CC values and timing into an event editor, or whatever. Of course, if I didn’t want that effect, I’d just use the quantize job in the Motif’s built-in sequencer, which didn’t have that “problem."To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com
