Coolsoft is what I use.
its true you need to install its stand alone midi mapper for anything
over win7 but its quite stable, its all self contained.

Depends on what OS you're running. Anything before Vista my favorite virtual
MIDI cable is the Sonic Foundry virtual MIDI router. After that you have to go
with other options like MIDIYoke or some of the other options.
I like BassMIDI for sound fonts, because it installs as a Windows device
instead of as a VST. Avoid the 2.x versions because they have latency issues.

Subject: Re: QWS List a couple of questions.
what is a good midi loopback device to use with QWS? or a good player like
Coolsoft that could play VST soundfonts? I'm blind, so it has to be accessible.

Hey dude its grate to see you on the list. As for QWS I use coolsoft
for running soundfonts. Now if you want VST's You will need a midi
loopback device.

Hello, my name is Tyrone Thompson, a new QWS user. had a couple of
questions. 1: I'm using coolsoft virtual midi synth, as I don't have
a keyboard physical one to use, so I'm using my computer keyboard to
play, however, I am seeing sf3 stuff. I wonder, which programs like
coolsoft can handle sf3? cause the actual sf3 i wanna use is the
musescore sf3 sounds, cause they sound pretty good.
2: I've read the manual, but I don't quite get this, I wanna do some
things in songs. for example, i wanna do all the volume stuff, like
loud to soft, soft to loud, crescendo, tempo changes, key changes
during songs, ornaments such as trills, rols and such. how to do
those?
thanks in advance to any and all who can help BTW, I am blind, so I
use jaws/NVDA to access my stuff, so when it mentioned the status
bar, and how to move between notes, how do I actually do this?
