Hi Matt,

The answer is no, the cut off notes is not because you have recorded using a
playback delay in QWS.

The QWS setting for playback delay means that QWS will send all the initial
track settings, then wait a little and only then start the playback proper. The
idea is that some synths - like yours and mine - take a little time to process
things like program changes, typically setting up the effects processors.

No additional data is saved or altered in the MIDI file because of the Playback
Delay setting.

So, for example, if you set the Playback Delay to 0 in QWS, I reckon you will
probably have exactly the same problem as you're experiencing playing your
files in in Reaper.

The solution to your problem is to insert some blank beats at the beginning of
each track, to give that time that your synth needs to process, before the
first notes are sent.

I trust this helps.

God bless,

James.

Subj: QWS List Playback delay, and midi files?

Hi folks.

Trying to move over to reaper.

So, all of the midi files I've recorded with my MOXF keyboard, the
playback delay was set to 400.

When putting these midi files in to reaper, there's a chopping at the
beginning of the sound.

Just wondering if recording with the playback delay set at 400 could
haveĀ  anything to do with this?

Note, I'm using my MOXF keyboard in reaper, to trigger the same sounds.
