Hi Matt, In common with most other Windows applications, the File Open dialog and File Save As dialogs are entirely controlled by Windows. They are what is known as Common Dialogs.
So basically, what appears in the dialog is entirely up to Windows. There is little I can do for this one, sorry. The symptom you are experiencing may be to do with a Windows update - or update in progress. You could also try Alt+Tab away and back again, to see if that makes any difference. Sorry there's not much I can advise on this.
