Hi Gavin, In my limited experience with R manuals, the PDF files are, like you say, not at all great to navigate. The problem is you have two columns of text and the screen reader merges them together, reading right across the line.
It took me ages demultiplexing them in a word processor to make them make sense ... and the charts typically go on for pages. No shortcut, sorry. The good news though is once you've got the basic idea, you can begin to tweak all kinds of things. Like Brian said, if you want to send GS reset to one synth and XG reset to another, then use a separate cable, as they probably respond to both otherwise. Those messages are NOT exclusive to just the one synth. Hope this helps. God bless, James. ----Original Message---- From: [email protected] Date: 09/02/2020 21:57 To: "QWS list"<[email protected]> Subj: QWS List SV: SV: SV: Questions About Roland SysEx Messages, and Using Multiple Hardware Devices Hi Gavin, There are various solutions, but the cheapest I know of probably is to get another seperat midi interface for the roland unit. -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: [email protected] <[email protected]> På vegne af Gavin Grundlingh Sendt: 9. februar 2020 21:10 Til: QWS list <[email protected]> Emne: Re: QWS List SV: SV: Questions About Roland SysEx Messages, and Using Multiple Hardware Devices Hi Brian, The thing is, both devices are capable of receiving both XG reset and GS reset. I only want the Yamaha to receive XG reset, and the Roland to receive GS reset. I have a Yamaha Psr-S975 keyboard and a Roland SonicCell sound module. Is there a way to direct SysEx messages to these devices separately? For example, can I send a GS reset to the SonicCell and an XG reset to the S975? Currently, all SysEx messages get sent to all devices. > > > 2. I want to control settings on the SonicCell using SysEx messages. > Unfortunately, the pdf files containing the MIDI implementation charts for keyboards and modules are, in my experience, not at all laid out in a way that makes them easy to read and understand. A friend of mine and I wrote an effect reference and parameter address map for the S975 in html, and laid things out in tables so that they're easier to read. The SonicCell implementation chart and parameter address map look like they're going to take a lot more work than the Yamaha ones did. Is there a way of converting the tables in the pdf into something that can be easily navigated with a screen reader? > > > Thanks in advance for any feedback. > > > Regards, > > > Gavin > > To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com > > for archived list posts, see > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] > > To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com > > for archived list posts, see > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] > > To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com > > for archived list posts, see > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com for archived list posts, see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com for archived list posts, see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com for archived list posts, see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
