You need a sound font player. It can make a huge difference -- I've got over 16,000 sounds loaded in the 19 sound font banks I use, some of which are commercially available (proteus 1,2, & 3, and the Mellotron bank I picked up) while others are from various freeware sites. I like BassMIDI, but there are other players out there. And you'll probably want to get comfortable setting bank and program numbers in Viena as you start to build your own collection of sounds.

Over the years I have seen frequent referenceS to soundfonts on these emails. I’ve never really looked into it. What are the advantages of soundFonts, what would I need to use them with my keyboard and Windows computer? Is there a central reference place where I can find information about how soundfonts work et cetera. brian To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com for archived list posts, see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To unsubscribe or change list options, see http://lists.andrelouis.com for archived list posts, see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
