Hello James,
I very much appreciate your answer. I already have Qcon Pro G2 surface,
so I can play with it:-)
The surface can send any note or CC message. If I touch some fader, the
surface also sends special note. Each fader has buttons for soloing,
mutting, arming and selecting. These buttons also send Midi notes. Is it
possible in QWS to jump to specific track after receiving certain Midi
note? Or turn solo, mute or arm on specific track according to received
Midi note?
I think QWS is perfect app for creating Midi and I would like to use my
surface in QWS as much as possible. I tried it in Reaper where it works
perfectly but it seems to me that working with Midi in Reaper is not so
comfortable as in QWS.
Best regards
Marek

Hello Marek,
I am not certain that you will be able to assign control knobs and
sliders to set particular things in QWS. QWS just deals with the
incoming MIDI. So, if your conroller can output a MIDI CC#7 (volume),
CC#10 (pan) etc when you move the controls, all is well. QWS has no
way of mapping an arbitrary set of control knobs to particular function.
You can set one MIDI controller to assign to another, in the MIDI
Assign options dialog, but this is not a general solution for all
controllers.
You could also try moving the knob or slider when in the appropriate
Track Properties dialog, on the particular field, but I am unsure if
QWS will always pick this up.
If you already have the control surface, I would encourage you to
experiment.
If you are thinking of purchasing the control surface, I can offer you
no guarantees that it will work.
I trust this helps.
With best regards,
James.

Subject: QWS List Using Qcon Icon Pro G2 with QWS
Dear friends,
is it possible to use Daw surface Qcon Icon Pro G2 with QWS? It has
Mackie, Logic, Hui and User defined protocols. In User defined you can
assign Midi messages to any of its controlls.
In QWS there is Key commands dialog in which I can assign commands to
surface buttons. But I would like also assign faders to set volume of
tracks, encoders to for example pan and so on. Faders are motorized
and touch sensitive, so it would be perfect to use these features in QWS.
Thank you in advance for any help.
With best regards
