The last thread got me thinking. Here's what I'd like to have in MIDI files
for aiding in composition. I know some things like this are commercially
available, but it'd be useful to get more variety.
1. My two Roland GK-2A divided hex pickup units are sitting in a box
near my head because the guitars they go on are still in parts. So I can't
generate files of guitar strums and other cool things. Someone out there
have a MIDI guitar that can create some of this kind of stuff?
2. I'd like about 64 bars of random controller data on a single
controller. QWS does a great job of remapping controllers, but it doesn't
have a random value generator. With a lot of time I could do a deep dive
into the Standard MIDI File format and hand build the file after using
something like Excel to generate the random values, but I'd much rather do
this from whatever source someone might have to do this.
3. Anyone up for transcribing a lot of ethnic drum patterns from a text
format to MIDI? I can't do this as fast as I used to back in the day before
I lost my sight. I can send an interested party the documents to transcribe.
4. I've got a lot of drum files I've cleaned up, but my EDM directory
is pretty lean. Some good basic EDM, Hip-hop, and Acid Jazz beats would be
cool.
Feel free to add to the list, and if there's anything I can help with I'll
be happy to do so.
