The International Foundation for Science (IFS) and the CGIAR Challenge
Program on Water and Food (CPWF) are pleased to issue a call for research
proposals open to young scientists. The purpose of the grants is to
provide opportunities for young researchers to contribute to the
generation of scientific knowledge relevant for achieving food security
and poverty alleviation as expressed in the formulation of the Challenge
Program on Water and Food.

Applicants should be at the beginning of their research career, have a
MSc/MA or equivalent, and preferably be younger than 40. They must be
associated with a national university, a research institute or a
research-oriented NGO.

For information regarding the call, please access the CPWF web page

guidelines, or the IFS website <http://www.ifs.se/>www.ifs.se.

The research should be conducted at the home institution of the grantee
and be relevant to the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water & Food.

Deadline at IFS is 31 December 2004.
Value Max. of USD 12,000 for a period of one to three years. Can be
renewed twice. The grant does not include a salary.
