R 2.4.0 has been scheduled for October 3. The first alpha tarballs of R 2.4.0 will be made available through
http://cran.r-project.org/src/base-prerelease/ starting tomorrow morning. The release schedule is available on http://developer.r-project.org As usual, bug reports are more useful before release than after, so please do what you can to check things out.
