The new SASxport package provides the ability to directly read, list,
and write SAS 'xport' files, including proper handling of custom SAS
formats. (This extends existing functionality for reading and listing
SAS transport files provided by the foreign package.)
The SASxport package is available for immediate download at

and will appear on CRAN shortly.
