Hard to see from a brief glance at the code why it would not work in 2.13.0 as well, but glad you got the problem solved. If you will need to maintain and extend this code in the future it may be worth figuring out what breaks between 2.8.0 and 2.13.0 and fixing it, as it is often difficult to get advice on the list about old versions of R (as releases are bi-annual, 2.8.0 should be about 2.5 years old, which is antiquated by R community standards ...)
