How big is the file? In the example I sent I waa using 'textConnection' to reread the input. If the file is large, this can be slow. You will have better luck writing the converted data outmto a temporarynfile and reading it right back in.
I am not such exactly what you are asking. You can crate output file names based on the input file name. What is it you want to do with the 'case' statement?
