I installed R-2.7.0 from the tar.gz file. It's the end of make check that my question is about.

Is this simply testing to see if it is found, or does the fact that it exits with Error 2 mean that it's not going onto other tests? It did seem to be rather a lot shorter than I remember other installations. I did not have any difficulty in installing the lme4 package and its dependencies which might indicate that the installation has been successful. Do I have any cause for concern? -- ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. ___ Patrick Connolly {~._.~} Great minds discuss ideas _( Y )_ Middle minds discuss events (:_~*~_:) Small minds discuss people (_)-(_) .....
