Hi Lorenzo, I may (?) have left something out. It isn't clear what "~" is supposed to mean; perhaps it is just a spacer, or perhaps you meant the following:
plot(1,1) legend("topright", expression(paste(R[g] %~~% k^{1/d[f]^{small}},~5<=k, {}<=15))) HTH, Mark.
