Alternatively, you could use the classic approach using key, where you need specify all parameters again in the key. You are already pretty close to that: xyplot(y~x, groups=s,data=d, type="b", pch=1:3,lty=1:3, key=list(text=list(c("A","B","C")), lines=list(lty=1:3, pch=1:3, type="b"), divide=1, columns=3)) You'll need to add matching colors as well. -Deepayan ______________________________________________ R-help@r-project.org mailing list https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-help PLEASE do read the posting guide http://www.R-project.org/posting-guide.html and provide commented, minimal, self-contained, reproducible code.
