No. But a simple implementation based on grid.rect() is not too hard (e.g., see http://www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/~paul/RGraphics/interactgrid-imagefun.R)

Also, the next version of R will include a grid.raster() function, which will provide another way to draw a matrix of colour values.
