Ok, I'd like the date an object was saved.  Here's what I used to do in S-PLUS:
 
> dataset.date('my.dataframe')
[1] "Tue May  4 10:16:00 2004"

R does not store objects `permanently' as S-PLUS (sic) does, so your exact
