Thanks. I ran 'tst <- getMethod("show", "summary.ssclme")', then edited tst as you indicated and ran 'setMethod("show", "summary.ssclme", tst)', and it fixed the problem.

As I write this I am uploading lme4_0.6-2 to the incoming area at CRAN. This version fixes that bug (I neglected to add drop=FALSE in a subsetting operation in the show method for the summary.ssclme class.)
