The latest Sun Java release is jre-1_5_0, and unlike the recent versions of j2re-1_4_2-0[2345], this one does work with Firefox 1.0PR, Mozilla 1.7.3 and Netscape 7.1 (and hopefully other Mozilla-based browsers).
