Yes. Did you read the manual the INSTALL file pointed you to? See appendix B.6 in the version I am looking at. Or see `An Introduction to R' appendix B.1 and look for --gui. [To run the GNOME console I think you need R-patched, not 2.0.0 as distributed.] Another approach is to run John Fox's Rcmdr package that provides a console. -- Brian D.
