Hi There is a very good introduction script to R on
http://www.r-project.org/ under manuals, including an index of nice functions. For example you will find the basic plots, how to sort vectors and so on. Furthermore have a look at ?RSiteSearch It is very useful to search in R archives for similar problems. Lots of answers are already there and only wait to be found. So there is a good chance that you will find the information that you are looking for in these archives.
