Kile doesn't come with connectors to R, so you can't highlight code in the editor and have it sent to an R process - out of the box anyway. I like and use kile as my LaTeX/Sweave editor especially as I can run Rweave from within Kile in the embedded Konsole, but I don't write R code in it. For that I use Xemacs and ess - I just haven't figured out enough of the arcane finger gestures for Xemacs yet to use it as my LaTeX environment - the one click build tools in Kile are very useful and easily customisable.
