A new package is now available on CRAN - pmml. PMML is the Predictive Modelling Markup Language, and is accepted by a number of large database and data warehouse systems (IBM DB2 and NCR Teradata) for deployment of models as SQL.
The current package is an "early release" in that it is very basic (and primarily supports the Rattle package). But it is a start! It currently supports rpart classification trees and kmeans clusters. Contributions of support for other models are welcome.
