I have been using R under Windows for some while but 2.7.1 was the
first version I succeeded in installing on my Asus EEE PC (thanks to
help gained from list members). Now I would like to move to 2.8.0 but
I have limited disc space so I would like to know whether it would be
better to use apt-get remove to remove the old version first or if I
just install the new one whether it overwrites the old one. Or is
there something better in apt-get I should use?
