help("update.packages") will tell you about loc.lib that can restrict 'where to look'. Also, if you do 'sudo apt-get install littler' you will find a script update.r in the examples/ directory that does just that -- updating of packages only in /usr/local/lib/R/site-library/ | 2/ Also, if I wish to uninstall a packages installed with install.packages() | in /usr/local/lib/R/site-library can I simply delete the relevant folder and | R would get automatically updated? There is 'R CMD remove' but I just rm -rf, albeit carefully :) Cheers, Dirk -- Three out of two people have difficulties with fractions. _______________________________________________ R-SIG-Debian mailing list R-SIG-Debian@r-project.org https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-sig-debian
