Question on packages,
Is vegan the main package to use for comparing diversity and relative
abundance between sites for hypothesis testing.
Hypothesis is Disturbed sample areas will have less activity\ relative
abundance\ diversity than non disturbed sites.
Checking data from a draft publication and not certain the results the
authors states are correct.
They used "We used the Morisita index (IM) to compare the activity at
different sites, which is derived from the Simpson index and indicates
if two sites are completely different (IM= 0) or identical (IM= 1)
(Moreno 2001). "
They cited a thesis:

Gotellis's EcoSim is still functional and only one module has been
ported over to the newer R based EcoSimR.
There is also a non R based temporal overlap program TimeOverlapthat
calculates null models for time overlap.
Interested in ideas.
