Hi everyone

Instats is excited to offer a 1-day seminar, Deep Learning for Complex Datasets
with ChatGPT
<https://instats.org/seminar/deep-learning-for-complex-datasets-with-2>,
livestreaming on September 26th and led by Group Leader (PI) Nikolay Oskolkov
from LIOS. As data grow ever larger and more intricate, deep learning has
become indispensable for modeling complex patterns, uncovering hidden
structures, and driving breakthroughs across statistics, bioinformatics,
computational biology, and the social and health sciences more generally. In
this intensive workshop, Professor Oskolkov will guide participants through the
fundamentals of neural networks and the latest advances in large language
models, showing how tools such as R, Python, TensorFlow, Keras, and ChatGPT can
be combined to build, train, and evaluate powerful models tailored to
life-science datasets. You will code gradient descent and a vanilla neural
network from scratch, explore convolutional and recurrent architectures for
genomic and time-series data, apply autoencoders for dimensionality reduction,
and learn best practices for hyperparameter tuning and model assessment—all
while leveraging ChatGPT as an on-demand coding consultant. By the end of the
day, attendees will have gained hands-on experience applying deep learning
techniques to real biological data, developed transferable skills for
integrating LLMs into their research workflows, and acquired a forward-looking
perspective on emerging AI technologies in computational biology.

Sign up today

secure your spot, and feel free to share this opportunity with colleagues and
students who might benefit!

Best wishes
