Dear all,

We have three statistics courses scheduled for 2026. Together, they form
a natural progression from regression modelling to GLMMs and finally to
Bayesian time series analysis. You are very welcome to attend one
course, or combine them depending on your background and interests.

*1. Analysing Aquaculture Data in R*

  * Hybrid course (online for non-IMR staff).
  * 4–8 May 2026.
  * 08.30-15.30 Norwegian time.
  * Price: £400.
  * This is a five-day course (approximately 40 hours) covering
    introduction to R, data exploration, linear regression, generalised
    linear models, linear mixed-effects models, GLMMs for continuous,
    binary and proportional data, and power analysis.

*2. Introduction to Linear Mixed-Effects Models and GLMM with R*

  * Online live course.
  * 21, 22, 25, 26, 27 May 2026.
  * 14:00–20:00 (UK time).
  * Price: £500.
  * This course focuses entirely on mixed models and GLMMs. Topics
    include random intercept models, Poisson and negative binomial
    GLMMs, Tweedie and Gamma models, Bernoulli, binomial and beta GLMMs,
    overdispersion, model validation with DHARMa, and power analysis
    (bonus on-demand material).
  * The course contains approximately 15 hands-on exercises using real
    ecological and fisheries datasets.

*3. Bayesian Time Series Analysis – GAMs, random walks and hierarchical
time series in inlabru
*

  * Online live course
  * 7–11 September 2026
  * 14:00–20:00 (UK time)
  * Price: £700
  * This is an applied but advanced course focusing on Bayesian
    regression and mixed models in inlabru, generalised additive models,
    RW2 random walk models, univariate and multivariate time series,
    hierarchical time series, and a wide range of likelihoods for count,
    binary, proportional and zero/one-inflated data. There is a strong
    emphasis on practical implementation in R, interpretation of
    results, posterior simulation, and model validation.
  * This course assumes prior experience with regression and GLMMs.

All courses include:

  * A one-hour face-to-face video consultation.
  * Access to the course website for 12 months.
  * Annotated R scripts and real datasets.
  * Selected on-demand video material.

If one of these courses might be useful for you — or for someone in your
group — please feel free to forward this email.
