Hi List,
Several weeks after posting on this list if there exists a R Factset API, I
found out that there is one...but with a catch.
BUT, it seems it has just been finalized which I guess is the reason they
haven't publicized it much yet even internally (hence the reason I had to wait
so long to get a feedback). It seems to use Curl (Factset words, I personally
do not know anything about Curl) to allow R to query Factset via web calls (I
do not know more about it)
The catch as often with Factset is that the API has an additional cost (final
pricing not decided, in the single digit thousands of GBP/year/user
apparently...) which comes of course on top of the Factset license...
Tought it might help some people which might be looking for it
