Dear rgdal Maintainers, spTransform is not available for standard call. I haven't tested other rgdal functions but the problem has happened with the last update of rgdal (I think today). Matteo

The definition of the spTransform method was moved as of sp 1.0-9 and rgdal 0.8-8 from rgdal to sp. I cannot reproduce your problem on R 3.0.0, so there may be differences between the methods package in 3.0.0 and 2.15.3, but I suggest reinstalling sp, then rgdal, in that order to ensure that the methods database is refreshed. Did you use update.packages() - which sorts rgdal before sp? That shouldn't hurt, as rgdal 0.8-8 depends on sp >= 1.0-9, so should not install if the sp version is earlier.
