Hi.

This book is first spatial statistics book for R, I
think.

 It's very interesting.

Thanks for the information.
Here's the official Springer link

Roger could you comment on when/where your book will be available. I
think we'd like to use it for a class that starts next month.

As the Springer site says, August 2008. The manuscript was only submitted February 29, which we hope is an auspicious day (R 1.0.0 was released on February 29, 2000). Perhaps some of the course materials from the Imperial College course, or Edzer Pebesma's e-seminar, both listed on the Rgeo website:

http://www.R-project.org/Rgeo

(old) news points 5 and 8 repsectively, may help in the interim?

Without this community, there would not have been any book; we (we are three - Edzer Pebesma, Virgilio Gómez-Rubio, and myself) hope that it will prove useful when it is ready.

Roger

Thanks,
Alex
