I’m having some problems with the car and effects packages taking R down. I
sent a note to John Fox and followed his suggestions, i.e. run
update.packages(ask=False) and try to load each of the packages on the Depends
and Imports lists. I did these and It seems that lme4 was the problem. When I
tried the lists of Depends and Imports for lme4 it appears that the problem
maybe with minqa. I have version 1.2.4 installed. Not sure if you could help.

my session info is:

Possible actions:
1: abort (with core dump, if enabled)
2: normal R exit
3: exit R without saving workspace
4: exit R saving workspace

Appreciate any advice.
