The installer includes the instructions:
Note: By default the installer upgrades previous Leopard build of R
if present. If you want to keep the previous Leopard build, use
dpkgutil --forget.
1) I suspect that the command name should be 'pkgutil' (no 'd')
2) It would be very helpful to provide the name of the package that
would need to be forgotten. I.E. (guessing as I haven't actually
done the install yet)
pkgutil --forget R-Framework.pkg
