Mito,

How often do you use winBUGS? That is the only major disadvantage that I have come across, winBUGS doesn't work on a mac and thus the R-winBUGS interface is useless on a mac. If you use the R.app, instead of command line, then it is about 1000x better on a mac than windows machine (no exaggeration :) ). The quartz and pdf interfaces are a lot nicer and generally render much better on screen, hence you have greater ability at making real nice plots, rather than guessing. If you ever have any trouble with other packages not loading on a mac, simply load them as source (.tar.gz) and they
will work fine.

My two cents.
