Hello, A student of mine is analyzing whether the rates of evolution of a continuous trait depend on the state of a discrete trait. He finds no support for a model with different rates of evolution. However, we would like to test how different the rates would have to be in order for the method to support a two-rate model. Thus I would like to know how we could simulate trait evolution for the continuous trait with rates differing depending on the state of the discreet trait.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Best wishes, Alejandro _______________________________________________ Dr Alejandro Gonzalez Voyer Newton Advanced Fellow Investigador Titular B Laboratorio de Conducta Animal Instituto de Ecología Circuito Exterior S/N Ciudad Universitaria Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México México, D.F. 04510 México Tel: +52 55 5622 9044 E-mail: alejandro.gonza...@iecologia.unam.mx Lab website: www.alejandrogonzalezvoyer.com [[alternative HTML version deleted]] _______________________________________________ R-sig-phylo mailing list - R-sig-phylo@r-project.org https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-sig-phylo Searchable archive at http://www.mail-archive.com/r-sig-phylo@r-project.org/
