Dear all,

I believe the upcoming Physalia online course titled “Machine and Deep Learning
Methods in Population Genomics and Phylogeography” (23–26 March 2026) may be of
interest and relevance to members of this mailing list.
Please let me know if it would be appropriate to share a course announcement
here or if there are any guidelines we should follow.

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to applying modern machine
learning and deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks
(CNNs), to analyse complex genomic data for evolutionary and demographic
inference. Participants will learn to simulate genetic data under different
demographic scenarios, apply machine learning for population genomics, and use
deep learning to detect selection signatures in genomic datasets.

Sessions run daily from 14:00 to 19:00 (Berlin time) and include lectures,
practical coding exercises, and real-world case studies.

Kind regards, Carlo
