I actually just received some clarification from Alicia: the topic was to be a discussion of books (well, written works, but let's say books for simplicity) and movies addressing various aspects of movies based on books and those not based on books. Would successful movies based on books have been successful if there hadn't been the initial book? Would successful movies not based on books have been as successful if there _had_ been a book? That sort of thing.
The horror and weird fiction mention I added was more to indicate the types of movies included. If there's enough weird fiction out there, we could certainly do a meeting focused on it.
