Hello R-SPEC!
For our first meeting of 2010, we'll use the first half for a painless
business meeting. We'll go over current and future projects and elect
our next Board of Directors from among our members. Painless is the
word to keep in mind here, while exciting, even invigorating may
apply, depending on the weather.
The second half of the evening will be strictly social. It's been
entirely too long since we've gotten a chance to chat as friends. Your
opinions of Avatar are of particular interest to me.

We're awaiting delivery of 2034: Writing Rochester's Futures, the
first published work of our nascent R-SPEC Press. The books should
arrive within the next week or two.
As we launch this first work, we'll be announcing the start of our
next project. There seems to be quite a bit of consensus about
gathering an anthology of Alternate Rochesters to complement our first
book.

Eeriecon has announced their program. Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca
Moesta are Guests of Honor. Check it out at:
http://www.eeriecon.org/
You'll see some other familiar guests, including our own Nancy Kress.

If you have ideas for meetings or group projects, opportunities for us
to better serve our members and friends, or if you would like to be
considered for a Board position, please let me know.

Alicia
