Greetings to all: I am going to take part in a panel in the fall on the subject of translating humor in speculative fiction. To this end, I am searching for a French- or Spanish-language author who is closest to the style of Octavia Butler when she wrote Kindred. Ideally, I wish to find a neo-slave narrative that involves time travel.
Since this is my first time delving into speculative fiction in another language, I have no idea where to search. Once I find the novel, I will conduct a comparative study with Butler's Kindred. I am hoping to become more specific as I go along. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you! Lori D.
