I've been out of town and not checking in so apologies for being late on
this.

First, many congratulations to Muxing. Writing a sellable story at any age
is terrific and that's a wonderful venue given the superb company he's
being equated to.

I agree that an announcement out to be sent to the D&C. Probably the local
news channels as well. They deal with shy, young achievers regularly and
could probably get past any reluctance to be on camera. I don't know what
timing would be best. We know what a huge deal a sale is, but the media
probably would want to see the result in the actual magazine.

Just be careful about making claims. Muxing may be the youngest writer to
sell to a professional magazine, but I don't know if that's true. A quick
Google brings up several names of younger writers who have published sf
novels, but those could all be self-published. The lines are blurry and you
don't want to claim anything that might get shot down later.

I don't want to take anything away from Muxing but by sheer coincidence,
there was another piece of next generation news on Saturday. The FIRST
Robotics competition was held at RIT.

The girl in the second picture on the side is Maura Sutherland, daughter of
local sf writer Jim Sutherland, who's been entering robotics competitions
for several years.

They're way ahead of us.
