Out of curiosity, why don't implementations use 24 bits per code point as the "full" Unicode string representation? Is the combination of the extra time spent in unaligned loads and masking not worth the space efficiency benefit? -- Brian Mastenbrook [email protected] http://brian.mastenbrook.net/ _______________________________________________ r6rs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.r6rs.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/r6rs-discuss
