I think I can take the credit and blame for that. I have been talking about Thing One for several reasons, mainly because I have lots of opinions about what it should look like, and I think that opinions are best refined by hearing other people's opinions. I took the existing draft charter for WG1 as a starting point, talked with many people, and began to put forward various ideas, some seemingly winners, others obvious losers, some I'm uncertain of. This, I claim, is politics in the good sense, the way that citizens of a community ought to practice it. In addition, if Thing One and Thing Two are to be as compatible as possible, the WGs shouldn't start by fighting over the common base. > (This might be a good time to review the charters of the current process > at http://www.scheme-reports.org/. I just did.) +1 -- John Cowan http://ccil.org/~cowan [email protected] SAXParserFactory [is] a hideous, evil monstrosity of a class that should be hung, shot, beheaded, drawn and quartered, burned at the stake, buried in unconsecrated ground, dug up, cremated, and the ashes tossed in the Tiber while the complete cast of Wicked sings "Ding dong, the witch is dead." --Elliotte Rusty Harold on xml-dev _______________________________________________ r6rs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.r6rs.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/r6rs-discuss
