Mary Kay,

I fail to see why you feel that Alan should have both personally attended
any of the ebXML CC meetings or contacted you directly in order to write his
book. If these kinds of efforts and activities were a prerequisite for any
author writing a book on any topic, we would soon have no writings at all!

I know Alan and trust that he has thoroughly researched his topic. Why not
read what he has to say and then critique it from your viewpoint rather than
attacking the author for not personally contacting you as part of his
research?

How interesting...

As one of the co-chairs of ebXML Core Components, I find it curious that
this book would have been written without any contact with me. Or without
attendance at all of the ebXML Core Components meetings.

Maybe those of us who did attend the meetings should write a book?

With timely precision Alan has just published an eBook
on Core Components - designed as an introduction to
the whole area.

Core Components : Delivering on the ebXML Promise by Alan Kotok /

I know many people are grappling to understand the essentials
here - so I'm sure Alan's briefing provides a significant
starting point for people to work forward from.

Against the backdrop of the ongoing efforts to develop
and deploy these technologies its refreshing to see
someone taking an objective step back and helping us
all see the bigger picture from an observers stance.

Enjoy, DW.
