The directive you are looking for is '.bits', but anyway, i dont think
thumb assembler is implemented.

bear in mind that not all opcodes are supported by the arm asm
plugin. if you need any nonsupported opcode just check the code and
send patches :) (or just a mail here asking for someone to implement it)
$ rasm2 -a arm -f add.s
You will get an hexpair list to stdout. If you want it in raw just
use the -B flag
